About The Founder
The Ramona Bowens Scott Transitioning Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2025 and was inspired by a personal experience.
After an unexpected disruption in household income, my family faced the possibility of eviction despite having a history of financial responsibility and employment. We sought assistance but were denied because eligibility was based on annual income rather than our immediate financial crisis.
Like many working families, we needed temporary support—not long-term dependency.
That experience revealed a critical gap in available services and inspired the creation of this organization.

Mission Statement

The Foundation exists to bridge the gap between traditional assistance programs and working families who earn too much to qualify for public assistance, yet too little to withstand a financial emergency. Through housing stabilization, crisis intervention, financial education, and supportive services, we empower families to overcome temporary hardships, maintain stable housing, and achieve long-term financial stability, life skills, and self-sufficiency.

Vision Statement

We envision a community where families facing financial crises have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to remain safely housed, build financial resilience, and thrive.

Purpose Statement

Many hardworking families find themselves in a vulnerable position—earning too much to qualify for assistance programs but lacking the financial resources to recover from unexpected setbacks such as job loss, medical emergencies, rising housing costs, or other crises. The Foundation is committed to filling this critical gap by providing immediate support, life skills, financial education, and connections to community resources that help families regain stability and move toward long-term success.
